What You Get
Here's where you can pick up your materials for the Bears in the Hills project - in the format that works best for you.
Please note - these are all separate options. You'll need to choose the one that works best for you from the drop-down menu above the add to cart button.
Get one sheet of each felt color you need. That's six sheets of assorted greens for the hills, six sheets of assorted browns for the bears, and one sheet of black for the noses.
The felt is wool/rayon blend - exactly what I used in my own project. Each sheet is roughly 9 inches x 12 inches and you'll have leftover scraps that you can use in other projects.
This is the best option for those who are cutting their pieces out themselves - either by hand or using a cutting machine.
Pre-cut Felt Pieces
I've done all the boring work for you. :-)
This kit includes 36 green hill pieces, plus the heads, ears, noses, and muzzles for six bears. The position for the eyes is marked on all the bear heads.
This is the same felt and the same colors as the felt bundle - already cut up for you. You get enough pieces for the 12 inch square piece I make as the sample in the class, with one hill piece left over.
This is the best option for those who don't want any leftovers and who want to jump right to the fun stuff. :-)
You'll get one skein of each of the ten thread colors I used in the sample. These are DMC #5 pearl cotton in nine shades of green, plus one skein of black for the eyes and mouths.
This is just the thread used for the decorative stitching!
You might also want. . .
- freezer paper (if you're cutting pieces by hand)
- fabric glue stick
- all-purpose sewing thread to whipstitch the bears in place
- size #1 embroidery needle (for the decorative stitching with 5 wt. pearl cotton)
