Ball Point Awl
I love using this handy little tool to poke holes for safety eyes. I used to use a small knitting needle - but the tiny tip of this tool is way more precise and the taper of the shank lets me have absolute control over the size hole I make.
It has a ball point tip - not sharp - so it's great for poking holes without snagging the fabric - especially in knits.
It's just under 5 inches long and has a very comfortable handle with little grippy ridges for good control. I love it!
