Thread Therapy Embroidery Panels| Add a Review
What You Get
Every time I see all those coloring books for adults, I my fingers itch to embroider the designs instead of coloring them. But those designs often aren't really suited to easy and fun embroidery - too many tight turns. :-P
I decided to design an embroidery kit that would achieve the same thing as those coloring books - only with needle and thread. Think of it as coloring in slow motion. :-)
Everything about these kits is designed to make them stress free. . .
- The design is printed right on the fabric. No need to transfer anything!
- The fabric is heavier than what you'll find in most embroidery kits. It's 100% cotton canvas and I chose it because your thread carries won't show through to the front. Stitch anywhere you like and let the back be as ugly as it wants. :-)
- The fabric square is 10" and the design is easy to stitch and frame in a 7-inch hoop.
You can stitch as simple as you like. The sample on the dark background is stitched entirely with backstitch - the easiest stitch there is. The sample on the white background gets a little fancier, but still doesn't move beyond the four most basic stitches.
You can use any thread you like. I found that 2 strands of DMC floss just barely covers the printed line - so if you use 2 strands you'll need to be careful. I stitched with 3 strands for less stress. You can find pre-selected thread bundles here, here, and here - or put together your own color combination. Both samples use the Tutti Frutti thread bundle.
You'll also need to provide a needle. I recommend the pack of embroidery needles in sizes #5-10 for a good variety.
That's it! Choose a dark or light embroidery panel and grab a needle and some thread. Fix yourself a cup of tea, put your feet up, and enjoy some thread therapy. :-)
