Meet Bertie! He's a fat, huggable bunny with floppy ears and great big feet. Look at those adorable toes! He wants to hop right into your lap and snuggle there a while. :-)

This is exclusively available as a PDF pattern, delivered instantly and ready to print onto letter-size paper. No shipping costs and no waiting! If you're not sure what a PDF pattern is, you'll find more info here.

Pattern Details

You Get. . .

  • A digital PDF file delivered instantly by email. If you're not sure what that is, there's more info here.
  • full-sized pattern pieces – no enlarging needed
  • detailed instructions and lots of step by step photos – you’ll never feel lost or wonder if you’re doing it right
  • links to videos teaching you all the skills you’ll need to make your own squishy bunny – from sewing curves and stuffing, to stitching up that stuffing hole. You can totally do this! It’s a workshop in a pattern!

Size

He's about 10 inches tall (not counting those lovely ears) and about 10 inches wide - an excellent size for hugging.

Difficulty

This one's a skill builder - but only because needle-sculpting those toes is going to be a new skill for most beginners. There's a video (of course) showing you how to do it. I think you'll be surprised by how easy it is! If you can use your sewing machine, you can make this bunny.

Materials Needed

You can find links to sources for many of my favorite tools and supplies here.

You'll need. . .

  • 1/2 yd. fleece fabric (I love using Cuddle Fleece)
  • embroidery thread for face ( I used black)
  • two 9mm safety eyes
  • scrap of pink felt for the nose
  • scraps of pink satin for ear linings
  • scrap of Sulky Sticky FabriSolvy (optional)
  • plastic pellets for filling (I like Fairfield Poly Pellets)
  • polyester fiberfill (I love Fairfield brand Soft Touch Polyfil Supreme)
  • a doll needle (for sculpting those kissable toes)

For example, you may not print the pattern and sell those copies.

Yes!

For example, if you're using this pattern to make stuffed animals which you sell at a craft fair or in an online shop, that's great!

Maybe

If you're hiring out any part of the process, please get in touch and we'll work out a fair licensing agreement.

For example, if you want to hire someone to machine embroider the faces, or die cut the fabric pieces for you, those two scenarios would require a licensing agreement. Get in touch! I'm easy to talk to. :-) smile@shinyhappyworld.com

Another Gorgeous pattern to add to my shiny happy gang!

Love, love these softie patterns! They are so easy and fun to put together, with great results every time and Bertie with his big feet is no exception! Gave him to My granddaughter for Easter, found it hard to part with him! 😆

My first Bertie

I am in the process of making him and it is all going very well - just about to start sculpting his feet but all the other bits are sewn / stuffed and I am very pleased. I will head over to watch the video and then get started.
