Squeak - Dress Up Bunch Mouse Softie Pattern

Easy!

Meet Squeak! She has a lovely pointy nose - she uses it to sniff out the best cheese. :-)

Her best friend is Pip the Cat. Pip and Squeak make a terrific team!

Squeak is one of The Dress Up Bunch and can share clothes (except for hats) with everyone else in the group. Fun! She has weighted hands and feet for excellent flop, arms and legs that will go in any direction for great play and easy dressability, and plenty of cuteness! She's also very easy to make. 😁

Please note - this pattern is just for the doll. None of the clothes you see in the photos are included, but there's a free pattern here for Play Clothes (a shirt and pair of shorts), and one here for an easy skirt.

This is exclusively available as a PDF pattern, delivered instantly and ready to print onto letter-size paper. No shipping costs and no waiting!

Pattern Details

You Get. . .

  • A digital pattern delivered by email. (If you're not sure what a PDF pattern is, you'll find more info here.)
  • full-sized pattern pieces – no enlarging needed
  • detailed instructions and lots of step by step photos – you’ll never feel lost or wonder if you’re doing it right
  • links to videos teaching you all the skills you’ll need to complete the project

All the Dress Up Bunch dolls (except Mini Lizzie) can wear all of the Dress Up Bunch outfits and accessories. Squeak can't wear the hats because of her gorgeous ears.

Size

Squeak is 18 inches tall from head to toe – 11 inches when sitting.

Difficulty

Squeak is very easy to make – a great project for beginners. All the parts are nice and roomy for easy turning and stuffing, they all tuck easily inside the body for the final assembly, and there’s a nice straight back seam for turning and stuffing that’s easy to sew up by hand. If you know how to use your sewing machine you can make Squeak.

I’ll make this again but…

My first issue was with the front and back body pieces not matching. It looked like too much to ease in. So before I contact the designer I have to figure out why. Maybe I printed the pattern wrong? No. There was no one inch test square to see if I printed correctly , that would have been a big help. The pieces still don’t fit so I have to do this trial and error thing where I have to figure out if I did something wrong. In the end I cut the pattern piece to fit but this so annoys me that I have to do this. The pattern does not say ease to fit .i guess being an experienced sewist I should know that but i hate guessing when I'm trying to make a new pattern. Anyway Squeak turned out very cute and I will make him again but next time I will also use some kind of fusible interfacing in the ears so they do not flop so much . Bottom line: I think the pattern could have been better written.

Easy to make stuffy Squeak

First stuffy I have ever made but Wendi’s step by step directions and diagrams with a handy tutorial helped me to complete squeak easily. Turned out amazing and I like that she is part of the dress up dolls so I can make many different outfits to change her into.
