Meet Elliott! He's cute and cuddly with big, soft ears and long, flexible arms and legs that are easy to make and so much fun to play with. :-)

I love the added bow tie! (There's a free pattern for that here.)

This is exclusively available as a PDF pattern, delivered instantly and ready to print onto letter-size paper. No shipping costs and no waiting! If you're not sure what a PDF pattern is, you'll find more info here.

Pattern Details

You Get. . .

  • A digital pattern delivered by email. (If you're not sure what a PDF pattern is, you'll find more info here.)
  • full-sized pattern pieces – no enlarging needed
  • detailed instructions and lots of step by step photos – you’ll never feel lost or wonder if you’re doing it right
  • links to videos teaching you all the skills you’ll need to make your own squishy elephant – from sewing curves and stuffing, to stitching up that stuffing hole. You can totally do this! It’s a workshop in a pattern!

Size

He's about 13 inches tall when sitting - not counting his legs or his super tall ears. His arms and legs are about 7 inches long. That's long enough to hug a friend. :-)

Difficulty

Easy!

There's nothing tricky on this one - just cuddly cuteness. :-) If you can use your sewing machine, you can make him.

If your sewing machine doesn't have a free arm, you may need to sew the head to the body (the neck seam) by hand.

Materials Needed

You can find links to sources for many of my favorite tools and supplies here.

You'll Need. . .

  • 1/2 yd. purple fleece fabric (I love using Cuddle Fleece)
  • scraps of contrasting fabric for his ear linings (optional)
  • two 9 mm safety eyes
  • plastic pellets for filling (I like Fairfield Poly Pellets)
  • polyester fiberfill (I love Fairfield brand Soft Touch Polyfil Supreme)
  • sewing machine, thread, basic sewing and embroidery tools

You might also want. . .

  • small piece of Soft & Stable if you want his ears to stand out instead of being floppy

Pattern Combinations

After Wendy & I text, I decreased the pattern of Elliotts head to 80% (this size takes care of the needed seams) I used my Squeak Dress Up Bunch doll pattern for the body and attached them together. Now I have an elephant that can wear the DUB doll clothes. The combination is so cute.

This pattern is amazing and I LOVE the final product. I was able to sew the elephant in about 3 hours including cutting time. She was super easy and fast to put together but I'm a very experienced sewer. Even though the pattern is amazing, there are several spots where it doesn't say right sides or wrong sides of the fabric. In addition there isn't placements on the pattern for where to put the legs or ears so you are eye balling it. I think a beginner can do this pattern but I would do it with someone with a little experience so you don't get confused.
