Pattern Details

Size

This cutie is 12” long when made with worsted weight yarn.

Want a bigger or smaller cutie? It can be crocheted with any weight yarn!

Difficulty

This otter is easy to make, using just basic skills except for the starfish. There's nothing hard about the starfish, it's just likely to be an unfamiliar series of stitches so I'm calling this one a skill stretcher.

These are the skills you'll need. . .

  • single crochet
  • decrease
  • increase
  • attach parts

Don't worry - the PDF pattern has links to videos teaching you all the skills you'll need! And it contains progress photos of all the important steps, so you won’t get lost. :-)

Materials Needed

You can find links to sources for many of my favorite tools and supplies here.

You'll need. . .

  • crochet hook (size determined by yarn)
  • 3 colors of worsted weight yarn - less than a skein each. The sample uses tan, brown, and yellow.
  • two 12mm black eyes
  • polyester stuffing
  • tapestry needle
  • locking stitch markers (to count stitches and rounds)
