What You Get

Unpack a mini stocking every night while you and your family count down the days until Christmas. :-)

Each little stocking is 4 inches wide and a little over 5 inches tall - just the right size to hold some candy, a small toy, a gift card, or a note promising a fun activity.

(Some people do 24 days of advent, and some do 25. The pattern will include 25 so you can go either way.)

I'll be releasing patterns as I design them - so you get a little bit of an advent experience as well. :-)

The first pattern will go out on Friday 9/29.

After that you'll receive 3 more patterns every Friday through 11/24 - just in time to finish the last ones before December 1. :-)

All the patterns will have the number on the stocking, surrounded by a geometric design that looks complex, but is very easy to stitch. They all use very basic stitches and they'll all link to videos showing you how to do those stitches.

You can make these!

What You'll Need

This collection will be an heirloom that you bring out year after year. Please use a good quality felt - like wool, rayon, or bamboo. The acrylic felt you can buy at most craft stores will pill and look dingy and sad very quickly.

Each sheet of felt will make two stockings. If you make 24 stockings you'll need 12 sheets of felt. If you make 25 you'll need 13 sheets.

You can buy individual sheets of felt here, or you can buy these pre-packaged bundles. . .

  • Tutti Frutti - bright fun colors great for kids
  • Enchanted Forest - woodsy colors (looks very pretty with all white stitching - like a snowy forest)
  • Fairy Garden - more bright colors with several shades of green
  • Frosty Pastels - a pale rainbow plus white and silver grey

You'll also need thread to match your felt colors. Matching thread bundles are sold separately from the felt bundles at the same listing.

You'll need 9 sheets of Sulky Sticky Fabri-solvy. (One package contains 12 sheets.)

You'll also need some freezer paper to cut out the stocking backs. You can buy it on the roll, or you'll need 9 printable sheets. (One package contains 30 sheets.)

You can get those adorable tiny clothespins here.
